The resources given to the United Way of Eastern Kentucky benefit people in need in the Big Sandy area.Only one half of one percent of the money collected goes to the United Way of America. The return on this investment is great; staff and volunteers are trained, our material costs are reduced, we benefit from national advertising and we receive funds from corporate sponsors like Wal-Mart, Lowe's, J.C. Penney, UPS, Sykes Enterprises, BB&T and others. All remaining monies are used in the Big Sandy area to improve the quality of life for our friends and neighbors.
